Our staff is dedicated, professional & ready to assist your media needs.

Marius Wannenburg – CEO

Marius has been in the advertising industry since 1995. He won two Avanti awards for editing as well as various other awards for post-production. In 2000 he was invited by the South African production industry to accompany President Thabo Mbeki and a government delegation to the USA to meet with President Clinton in order to promote the South African production industry. From 2002 to 2013 he have been planning and producing international corporate events for Sappi.

Gugu Nyoni – Media Planner

I've been in this field for several years now. I basically do the media planning for the clients and also do the books for the company. I am studying towards a degree in Communications Science(BA).

Cara Botha – Production Manager / Admin / Finances

I’ve been working for Garden Route Media since the beginning. I got my Bcom degree at NWU in Marketing and Tourism; I have a big passion for TV and Movies. As the production Manager my job is making sure all aspects of the production is planned out and to implement the vision of the production. I am also responsible for managing content throughout the production process, ensuring that all individuals involved meet quality standards. My dream is to one day be the Producer and Director for movies that is being viewed around the world.

Stefan Kloppers – Director of Photography / Editor

I joined Garden Route Media in 2020. I have been working in the industry since I finished high school in 2017. I have experience in all aspects of production, but my main focus is camera work and post-production. I have been part of big productions such as In Afrikaans, Afrikaans is Groot, Coca-Cola, Kyknet and many more. My dream is to one day be an international Producer / Director.

Rowan “Snow” Du Preez - Sound Director / Mixer

I’ve been doing audio work since 2013 and joined the team as a freelancer in 2017 as audio recorder. In 2020 I completed training at iKasi Media.

Hanje Bloem - Assistant Production Manager / Admin / Finances

I am currently the Production Manager Assistant and assist in all features to ensure all aspects of production is planned out and executes the vision of the production, overseeing all the departments involved. I am also responsible for the Financial aspects of Garden Route Media and the productions we do. I have a degree at NWU for Psychology and Sociology and I am currently doing my Business Management course with the NWU as well. I am looking forward to growing with, and taking all of Garden Route Media to the next level and improve our team and the productions we provide to be the best for the next challenge.

Jacques Coetzee - Camera Man / Editor

I am a self-taught film maker and photographer. I am currently very passionate about editing and my goal is to work in the film industry for a very long time and improve my other skills along the way and learn about all aspects of the film industry.

Moses Williams – Comedian / MC / Presenter

I got introduced to acting (drama) at George High School and unexpectedly fall in love with being on stage. In 2014 I entered the comedy scene locally and started doing my own small stand-up comedy shows which grew from a first attempt of 6 people to SOLD OUT shows in and around George in the Garden Route. My skills grew from stand-up comedy to being the most reckon with MC in the region. My long-term goals are to present my own TV show and be an actor.

Divan Roux - Websites / Marketing

Developing websites & web applications since 2016. I've built all kinds of websites ranging from social media apps to multi-vendor marketplaces and everything in between. To date I've managed hundreds of thousands in ad campaigns for clients, averaging a 4.6% CTR on search ads, a 1% CTR on display ads & a 5% conversion rate.

Chris Wilson - 1st AD

I've been working as a freelance director and cinematographer since 2018 both locally and overseas. In the process I've overseen several facets of productions ranging from documentaries, adverts, short films and TV movies. I have a passion for storytelling and I believe that the future for young filmmakers in South Africa is a bright one.

Carlyle Lodewyk - Editor

My filmmaker’s journey started in 2012 when I attended City Varsity and since then I've enjoyed taking on every opportunity to learn and grow more in the film industry. I was introduced to Ikasi Media in the Garden Route, after completing their Film and Television course I met Marius Wannenburg and since 2019 worked with Garden Route Media on various local productions from corporate videos to fictional narrative productions.

This was my first experience working with Garden Route Media and I found working with the team to be an excellent experience all round. The team were all very professional and very enthusiastic and worked around my interesting and difficult requests. George Municipality was very happy with the final video and I would highly recommend the team and Garden Route Media.

Garden Route Media has never failed to deliver excellent services and quality content; they have been great mentors to our iKasi Creative students and have brought working opportunities to several of our graduates. We are very grateful to Garden Route Media for assisting us on reaching our goal to empower and bring opportunities to youth in rural areas.

Garden Route Media has the ability to create innovative videos that portray lyrics and atmosphere perfectly. They are absolute professionals and made me feel like the star of the moment. I would recommend them every time. You guys were absolutely amazing! I always enjoy working with you. World class!

Dit was vir my ’n voorreg om op Moordenaars Karoo, as my eerste film, te kon werk. Die span het ’n lekker “vibe” gehad en die akteurs was amazing. Wat ek geleer het was - Spanwerk, Spanwerk en nogmaals Spanwerk! Elke film het ’n ander vloei gehad want elke person in ons span het so baie gegroei vanaf die eerste tot die laaste film. Jy kon beslis sien hoe ons almal se selfvertroue gegroei het.

I want to thank the Garden Route Media team for such a fantastic opportunity once again, thank you for giving me a chance to show what I can do and offer. Your guidance and help made it possible for me to fulfill my role and duties. I would gladly work with you guys any day.

Dit was exiting om met ‘n groep jong klomp op n movie te werk. Vir my was dit so lekker om met hulle ‘n bond te bou, want ek het sommer weer jonk in my gees gevoel en kon nie wag vir ons volgende movie nie. Met al my jare se ondervinding in die film industrie, kan ek net sê, Well done aan die span.

Moordenaars Karoo was die eerste kykNET film waaraan ek bevoorreg genoeg was om te werk. Ons was ‘n baie nuwe en jong crew en ons het van die begin af baie goed saamgewerk, ek is baie gelukkig met die eindproduk. Die film was vir my 'n ervaring wat ek nooit sal vergeet nie.

Being a member of the crew allowed me to experience exactly what I sought out when I first decided to join the industry: working alongside spectacularly talented and like-minded people, visiting remarkable places, and telling stories. I feel that these films taught me so much about my craft, helped me improve my technical skills, and allowed me the blessing of stepping in front of the camera again however briefly. I am extremely grateful to have been a part of these films.

I was the make-up artist on set for the films made by Garden Route Media. The crew was amazing from lighting, sound continuity, wardrobe the camera department and of course our Director Anton Treurnich. It was great working with the team.

Dit is vanselfsprekend dat die Hart In Bos movie vir my baie special was. Vir 'n jong opkomende akteur met geen na skoolse opleiding was dit 'n eer en 'n ‘dream come true’ om in hierdie movie te kon speel. My ervaring tot dus ver is niks behalwe positief nie. Ek het so baie geleer in die proses. Vanaf die beplanning fase tot die verfilming. It's just a wonderful time to be alive and I’m so happy to be part of history.
